Early Rising
Mar 24, 2021
Early Rising,
To wake up before dawn it feels a crime,
No sun to tell the morning birds it’s time,
To sing their soulful, heart elating songs,
Instead we’re packed in buses, move in throngs,
Like slowly moving snakes down rain soaked roads,
The same conundrum, all the different modes
Of transport, held fast in the morning rush,
To stay in bed, not this, would feel quite lush,
In time I hope to move to my own beat,
To get up only when I feel the heat,
Of Helios’s life producing beams,
Not snakes, but fish, free in sun-kissed streams.
