Moving Forward
Moving Forward
One more step today,
I’ll shuffle on tomorrow,
Though sometimes I may trip and fall to ground,
If that’s the case,
I’ll crawl on still,
’til strong enough once more to go on foot,
On other days,
The air is light,
Floating up, I’m propelled by the wind,
The clouds caress
and soothe my skin,
As birdsong is the soundtrack on the way,
Looking down,
Criss-crossed view,
How calm life seems when gazing from on high,
Close to heaven,
All around,
In life is where our true meanings reside,
Like Icarus,
Soaring on,
I cry aloud as Helios melts my wings,
And on those days
burnt by sunrays
I plummet headlong like a shotgunned bird,
Limp on the ground,
I twitch to life,
Reimbue this carcass with a spark,
Dust it off,
Start anew,
and so renew the body mind and soul.
