The Rain Came Tearing Down

The Rain Came Tearing Down
The rain came tearing down,
Thundering through the drains and alleyways,
The streets, like ice, are slick,
Reflecting lights as though demonic eyes,
Staring at my bike,
“Join us here, our blackened underworld”,
Splitting pools in two,
The spray my wheels flick, demons spit,
Greasing up the tyres,
The buses tail flicked out to strike its prey,
Wheels and people screech,
The devil’s tongue lashed out a second late,
The jaws snap shut behind,
“We’ll catch you soon, you’ll join us here someday”,
The rain keeps tearing down.
