The Ticking Of The Clock
The Ticking of the Clock
With each ticking of the clock,
A child is born a heart will stop,
Yet the clock still goes, tick tock.
Death sits waiting, some say in mock,
A man falls down in his local shop,
With every ticking of the clock,
The manager works late counting his stock,
An artist works hard on new age hip hop,
Yet the clock still goes, tick tock,
The shepherd waits patiently alongside his flock,
Last night’s drunken vomit to be cleaned by a mop,
With each ticking of the clock,
Science proclaims new ways to awe and shock,
Eyes shut tight before the coaster drop,
Yet the clock still goes, tick tock,
A man turns the key in his front door lock,
A thought of if it all will stop,
The endless ticking of the clock?
Yet still the clock continues, tick tock.
