Two Footed.

Crossing the Bosphorus by Tom Edwards

Two Footed

Jumping high into the air,
Shake off the worry and the doubt,
Rising up without a care,
No time now for backing out,
The ledge is gone and out of reach,
Stretching back I'd bang my knee
And tumble head first on the beach,
Rolling sand mouthed to the sea,
Instead, I've leapt two footed high,
My eyes wide open as I fall,
For though these arms aren't made to fly,
When I land, I'll give my all,
Surrendering to the universe,
Let its hand write out my next verse.
